But here's where it gets controversial... WYSE, despite its immense impact, has primarily been self-funded. However, a group of musicians, led by rapper and electronic musician M0j0 (Johnnie Owens), stepped up to support this vital cause. M0j0's initiative, Starving Artists, aims to organize benefit shows and grassroots efforts to support local communities. By connecting with friends and fellow musicians, M0j0 has sparked a movement that is making a tangible difference.

Bridget Lantz, a music promoter, joined forces with M0j0, and together they organized a benefit show at Meltdown Creative Works, collecting donations for WYSE. The impact was immediate, with M0j0 personally delivering 10 bags of groceries and $75 to WYSE, which, as Marty points out, can go a long way in providing much-needed protein for families.
M0j0's next fundraiser, featuring a lineup of talented artists, will take place on January 24th at the Coffeehouse in Normal. Patrons can enjoy the show and support WYSE by bringing donations, with suggested items ranging from toiletries to adult diapers.
