In his virtual address, PM Modi emphasized the appointment letters as an invitation to nation-building, a call to duty for the youth to contribute to India's growth and development. "A new season of growth has begun in your lives, just as Basant Panchami ushers in spring. Your duty now lies with the Constitution, and together, we celebrate the Republic. Yesterday, we honored Parakram Diwas, and tomorrow, we mark National Voters Day. These occasions are a reminder of our collective journey towards a stronger, more prosperous nation."
The event was attended by Union Minister Jitendra Singh, along with Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, CRPF, and defense officials, showcasing a united front in support of India's youth.
PM Modi further highlighted the significance of this day, stating, "Today, our Constitution recognized Jana Gana Mana as the national anthem and Vande Mataram as the national song. On this auspicious occasion, more than 61,000 young people receive their appointment letters, an invitation to contribute to India's progress. This is a 'sankalp patra,' a pledge to propel India to new heights."
He congratulated the young attendees, emphasizing the government's commitment to providing skilled youth with employment opportunities. The Rozgar Mela, initiated with a 'mission mode' approach, has become an institution, with lakhs of youth receiving appointment letters across various government departments over the years.
"Today, India stands as one of the youngest nations globally, and our government is dedicated to creating more opportunities for our youth. We are actively engaging in trade and mobility agreements with multiple countries to open new avenues for our talented youth."
PM Modi also highlighted India's existing trade agreements with European and North American countries, with discussions underway for FTAs with the US, UK, and EU. He believes these agreements will bring new opportunities for India's youth, especially in the context of world-class infrastructure development and the thriving startup ecosystem.
"In recent years, we've invested significantly in building world-class infrastructure, creating numerous jobs in the construction sector. Our startup ecosystem is also gaining momentum, with over 21 lakh youth employed across various startups. Digital India has emerged as a catalyst for a new economy, and India is emerging as a global hub in animation, digital media, and the creator economy, offering our youth exciting new prospects."
